Experience required

Preferably 4 years of industry experience in a regulated lab environment and performing progressively advanced duties at the Lab Technician level is preferred.

Education

Bachelor or Master in Sciences or equivalent by training/experience.

Senior Lab Technician

The Senior Lab Technician plans and performs assigned scientific experiments independently.

Accountabilities

Independently plans and performs scientific experiments according to instructions, and bringing in new knowledge.
Provides support in performing routine analysis and method development by independently executing routine experiments.
Summarizes, analyses and interprets data in order to draw conclusions and make preparations for the next experimental steps. Independently prepares the experimental set-up and writes reports in ELN that record data or results.
Coaches and trains junior colleagues on project specific activities.
Can summarize and present project related technical data with minimal guidance.
Follows GLP rules, policies, SOP’s and other applicable guidelines.
Takes responsibility in overall lab coordination and project related logistic activities.
Fully takes up responsibility in lab cleanliness and audit readiness; and contributes in context of lab and/or equipment responsibilities.

Profile requirements

Bachelor or Master in Sciences or equivalent by training/experience;
Preferably 4 years of industry experience in a regulated lab environment and performing progressively advanced duties at the Lab Technician level is preferred;
Broad theoretical knowledge of molecular biological techniques and terms. Able to work in an independent way;
(Applied) knowledge of (q)PCR;
(Applied) knowledge of sample preparation;
(Applied) knowledge of cartridge manufacturing and QC development processes;
(Theoretical and applied) knowledge of IVD verification and validation processes;
Planning & organization - Planning & organization: plans and organizes own work(load) in an effective way by setting priorities and meeting deadlines;
Resilience - Displays a positive attitude in the face of ambiguity, stress and change;
Adaptability to change - Embracing change: is open for change and willing to adapt to changing tasks, priorities and unexpected events;
Communication & influencing - Communicates with clarity: speaks and writes clearly and to-the-point; active listener;
Legislation and regulation:
- Experience with GLP and GDP guidelines
- Experience of working in an environment with strict HS&E guidelines;
Knowledge and proficient use of Biocartis software and database applications:
- Spotfire
- Biorad
- Idylla Explore
- Quantasoft
- Master Control
- LIMS database system
Applied knowledge of MS Office;
Languages:
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Excellent knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
