Head of Quality & Regulatory
Karlien Hermans is Biocartis’ Head of Quality and regulatory since 1 October 2021 and Biocartis’ Head of Quality and Regulatory since 1 September 2023. Dr. Hermans joined Biocartis in October 2014 as QA Engineer and since has held quality commercial roles of increasing responsibility. Dr. Hermans holds the overall Quality and Regulatory responsibilities at Biocartis. She oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of Biocartis’ quality management systems and ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and standards to maintain product safety and effectiveness while facilitating market access. Dr. Hermans is a senior leader with a year track record of more than 10 years in ensuring excellence and compliance in the world of quality and regulatory affairs. She is the driving force behind our commitment to delivering top-notch products and services to customers. Prior to joining Biocartis, Dr. Hermans served as Quality Manager at reMYND, a biotech company developing first-in-class treatments to restore function in patients with Alzheimer's, Huntington's, as well as other diseases caused by cellular dysfunction. Prior to that, she worked as a life sciences consultant. Karlien Hermans holds PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) and a Master’s degree in Bioengineering in Biotechnology from the same university.
